Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes

SEPTEMBER 25, 2008

MEMBERS PRESENT: Fr. Casey, Jerry Jensen, Kevin Whitley, Jose Carrillo, Theresa Dickinson, America Di Lasio, Peg Herzing, Aaron Rulison, Robert Fitzwilliam,  Eleanor Kintana, Peter Taskovich, Jenniffer Garlit

MEMBERS ABSENT:  Leonel Mancilla

GUESTS PRESENT: Fr. Abe (Retreat), Fr. Stasys

RETREAT: -Lead by Fr. Abe.

                     -Reflections about the role of a pastoral council versus parish council.

                     -Focus on Jesus Christ.

AGENDA: Pandemic; Christmas Concert; Bylaws; Coffee and Doughnuts; Transition

                   Team; Light Fixtures

Pandemic (Kevin)

            -    Planning to show video on October 12^th weekend after all masses in hall.

            -    Jenniffer will check availability of hall.

Christmas Concert (Jerry & Jennifer)

-         Tentative date is December 5^th, first Friday

-         Need to form sub-committee to plan and manage concert.

-         Discussion on whether or not to charge admission fee. Possible opportunity to raise funds.

Bylaws (Jerry)

            -     Last revised April 2004

            -     Need to form sub-committee to update bylaws into guidelines.

            -     Fr. Casey explained that they’re good for resolving conflicts/divisions.

            -     No soft copy available. Jenniffer offered to scan them.

Coffee and Doughnuts

-         Discussion about cost. Possibility of asking for donations.

-         Usually every 4^th Sunday of the month except next month (October) when video planned to be shown on October 12^th weekend.   

-         October Coffee and Doughnuts will be sponsored by pastoral council.

Transition Team

-         Next two Sundays, will pass out 6 questions to parishioners. Possible meeting      in hall like a town hall meeting.

-         Answers to questions due to DSJ  by end of November.

Light Fixtures Over Altar

            -   Need to schedule change of light fixtures and compare costs.

            -   Try to install projector enclosure at same time.

            -   Maintenance Committee and PC to handle situation
