1. Pastors Report (Fr. Casey)
- Quarter 3 financial report will be published in bulletin, 4/26. $59,000 deficit projected. $80,000 spent on roof. Benefits for priests were also costly this quarter.
- ADA is finished. Ended up with $95,000. 200 contributors from the English speaking masses and $10,000 contributed by Spanish speaking community.
- Fr. Oscar Tabujara, pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Mountain View, has been appointed to be the new pastor of St. Athanasius, effective July 1st.
- 2 employees will be terminating at the end of June: Bulmaro (Maintenance), Loretta (Director of Catechetical Ministry). Fr. Casey will create and email out a job description of Bulmaro’s position. Fr. Oscar will interview and make final decision about replacements but will be advised.
- On Good Friday, 800 people attended Stations of the Cross led by Spanish speaking community. Estimated cost for police and traffic control was $400 but actual bill was $800. Still working out discrepancy with police department.
- Bishop cannot come to Jubilee Mass due to brother’s illness in Ireland. Msgr. Francis Cilia will come in his place.
- Pianist position for 5:30 Sunday Mass is still volunteer.
2. Maintenance Committee (MC) Status and Plans
- MC on hiatus.
- Mural, partially painted by Joanne Arnold on wall of cry room, will be expanded over the next few months.
- Estimating $75,000 for bathroom renovation and carpet repair. Not in budget.
- Fr. would like to produce budget with staff/council/committees that would include restrooms and carpet repair. Priorities will be set.
3. New Council Members Sub-Committee Report (Kevin)
- Kevin and team made many calls to potential candidates. 19 candidates for pastoral council expected to come to orientation next Wednesday April 29th, 7:30PM at school. Fr. Oscar, Deacon Leo, and current council members encouraged to come.
- Discernment process will happen over the first 2 weeks of May. Plan to introduce newly discerned PC members at May 28th meeting
4. PC Guidelines Subcommittee Status/Plans (Peter/Jenniffer)

-Greater emphasis on pastoral council “assisting pastor.”
-New Council member selection to be made in May or June with terms
beginning on July 1st.
-First regular meeting of FY 2009-2010 to be scheduled no later than
September. Special meeting can be held earlier if there are special
circumstances.
-Executive Committee shall consist of the pastor and the three officers.
-Council shall follow discernment process in obtaining a consensus
instead of using the formal Roberts Rules.

- Proposed changes to be discussed at May meeting and agreed upon when completed.
- Benefits of Roberts Rules were discussed. Heated dispute might result in shouting match if left to discernment/consensus alone.
- Diocese is encouraging to call them guidelines instead of bylaws.
5. Parish 50th Anniversary Celebration Update
- Anniversary celebration is next weekend.
- Final decisions were made about menu. Current ticket count is 106 (120 total including complimentary tickets). Not meeting hall capacity of 220 but pricing is per person. There’s a little wiggle room if final head count changes. Robert will be emcee. Projector will be borrowed from Mike.
- Booklet is in print. Copies will be offered to businesses who gave donations and to guests.
- Grocery bags will continue to be sold after anniversary until out.
- Letter was written to invite neighbors to Jubilee Mass and to inform them of possible increased traffic and noise on that day.
- Efforts will be made to provide sunscreen, water, and shade for elderly, and handicap parking. Traffic and parking will be directed by Leo’s team.
- Hoping to break even but may actually make a few hundred extra dollars.
6. Holy Ghost Fathers Farewell Reception Updates (Aaron)
- Farewell Mass with Bishop McGraw scheduled for 7:30 PM, Friday June 19th with reception immediately following.
7. Coffee and Doughnuts Plans/Schedule Update
- PIA sponsored April Coffee and Doughnuts. Did not break even.
- Eleanor will talk to Jenniffer about scheduling a sponsoring group for May.
8. New Business/Proposed May Agenda.
- Follow-up on pastoral council guidelines and possible vote on changes.
- Possibilities of having 2 retiring PC members stay on board for next year so that 4 new members can be consistently selected every year thereafter.
