1. Pastor’s Report (Fr. Casey)
- Difficult planning budget not knowing who will be on staff next year. Will be meeting with Finance Committee next week.
- Jerry has been in touch with Fr. Oscar regarding the possibility of contracting out maintenance position as is done in St. Joseph. Less costly because benefits are not offered.
- Congratulations on Jubilee Celebration. Happy about outcome.
- New members for the pastoral council have been discerned.
- Bishop will be here on Friday, June19th to celebrate Mass for Holy Ghost Fathers’ Farewell.
2. New PC Member Committee Report (Kevin)
- Gave presentation to 19 people and interviewed 16 people. Process went well.
- 5 new PC members were selected: Mabel Parra, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Gustavo Urias, Mildred Jones, and Doris Chou.
- 5 current members will be retiring but Jenniffer has been discerned to stay on the Pastoral Council for one extra year.
- Fr. Casey suggested Leo to be ex officio after his PC term ends in 2010.
- New members present were introduced. (Mabel, Jose Luis, Gustavo)
3. Holy Ghost Fathers Farewell Reception Update (Aaron/Mike Cavera)
- 2 Part Farewell Celebration:
- Mass on Friday, June 19th at 7:30 PM with Bishop McGrath. To be held on a Friday night due to Bishop’s schedule. Liturgy sub-committee: Mike, Eleanor, Peter, Jerry Pintar. Dessert reception will immediately follow Mass either outdoors or in the hall. Reception sub-committee: Jennifer, Robert and possibly Deolinda.
- Plan to make hall available for simple receptions after all masses on June 27 and 28, final weekend Holy Ghost Fathers are here, to provide chance for parishioners to say good-byes and wish the fathers well.
4. Parish 50th Anniversary Celebration Update (Aaron)
- Budget Summary from Aaron: Grand Total Income $14,214

................................................................... ..Net Income $ 327.37
- There is a discrepancy of about $600 between Aaron’s budget and bookkeeper’s budget so Aaron will meet with Lucille to reconcile difference and will have a collapsed version of the budget published in bulletin.
5. PC Guidelines Sub-Committee Status/Plans
- Peter will update actual bylaws and final approval will be made during next meeting.
- Mission statement will be revised by next year’s council
6. Nomination of PC Officers for FY 2009-2010
- Nominations: Chair- Kevin, Peter
...............................Vice Chair- Peter, Mildred
...............................Secretary- Eleanor, Kevin
- Discernment to be done next meeting. New PC members are invited to participate.
- Elections made in June instead of September because new pastor is coming in July and it’s best to have officers set if PC meets in July.
- Kevin raised need for minutes to be translated to Spanish. Mabel to help translate.
- Father suggested more PC profile with parishioners would be good.
Coffee and Doughnuts Plans/Schedule Update
- Cancelled Coffee and Doughnuts for May because PIA provided coffee and doughnuts last weekend.
- PC will sponsor Coffee and Doughnuts on June 21st.
- Need to come up with a system for a schedule.
New Business/Proposed June Agenda
- Possibility of forming a support group to the PC made up of former members like Len and Jerry.
- Sub-committee to build relationship between Spanish and English speaking communities. Gustavo as possible head.
- Subcommittee to sponsor Christmas Concert. Jerry/Jenniffer possible co-chairs.
