The intent is to provide broad guidelines and information necessary to form programs that will develop the spirit of Stewardship within our community. 1.2 Defining Stewardship St. Athanasius views Stewardship as a way of Christian discipleship that will engage each and every member of the community. 1.3 Goals of Stewardship The primary goal of the St. Athanasius Stewardship committee is to guide the community in Stewardship education, and provide activities that nurture long term relationships and growth of the community. For St. Athanasius parish community to excel over the long term it must foster community involvement, and increase awareness towards each member’s responsibility to share their gifts of time, talent and treasure, with the community. It is important to note that the Stewardship committee aims to work along side the other committees of the parish in order to achieve the overall common goals of St. Athanasius vision, mission statement and core values as outlined in our parish mission statement. 1.4 Plan to Achieve Stewardship Goals The goals of Stewardship committee include the following. 1. Hospitality · Build a vibrant hospitality committee. · Welcome new members, help them transition and take active roles in the community · Social networking within community to help foster positive relationships. For example, Build and maintain a membership directory of all community members. Refer to the Section on Hospitality below for more details. 2. Diversity · We are a diverse parish, with members spanning different cultures. The goal is two fold (a) to recognize, encourage and celebrate diversity (b) promote cross-cultural activities to foster a better parish community. 3. Sacrificial Giving · Sacrificial giving is a spiritual-oriented process that responds to the challenge of increasing and maintaining adequate parish funds. The goal is to help parishioners come to a decision about how much they should donate to their parish community and charities needing their assistance. · Increase the awareness of Sacrificial giving within St. Athanasius community. 4. Stewardship Education · Provide stewardship education that informs the faith-community of the needs of the parish in terms of time/talent/treasure needed; work that needs to be done on a volunteer basis and financial contribution. · Measure Success: St. Athanasius needs an initial self-assessment to decide on the most appropriate stewardship program that will provide long-term success for our community. Once this initial assessment is done, every year success is measured based on various data/statistics collected. This self-assessment is established based on prior and currently available data, and serves as a baseline to measure continued success. 1.5 St. Athanasius Stewardship Committee · Members Roster: 1.
